Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Join our FIGHT to support those battling breast cancer!
With each $50 purchase from Nena & Co. during the month of October, we are donating a post-surgery pillow to local hospitals. Post-surgery pillows help women who have undergone mastectomy or lumpectomy procedures.
“Giving back doesn’t have to be a big gesture, it can be a tiny pillow. Join me as we enter Breast Cancer Awareness month by either donating directly to have a post-mastectomy/lumpectomy pillow made OR you can “get and give” with Nena’s Pink Capsule, every item there will contribute to the making of a handmade pillow which will be donated to a women who will undergo a mastectomy or a lumpectomy to recover more comfortably here in Utah.”

A letter from Cony, co-founder of Nena & Co
On January 10th, 2023, I received a phone call from my doctor, my mammogram and biopsy results were in and were positive for breast cancer. Truly, there are no words to describe the shock wave that hit my brain, and the fear that grasped my heart. My mother is 88 years old and in excellent health (other than diabetes) I thought longevity was in my DNA and it was not possible that cancer was something I ever had to worry about.
At my first appointment with my Oncologist, I had so many questions, I concluded that I needed to focus all my time and energy recuperating my health. At the end of a rather devastating appointment, my oncologist gifted me a small handmade pillow; I had no idea what its purpose was, I asked my doctor and she said, “you know…to help you sleep better after your surgery” and it did.
That small pillow has been with me every single day since and became sort of a comforter for me. I sleep with it and I take it with me wherever I go! I just wish I could express my gratitude to the woman that donated it to my surgeon’s office and I hope I can pay it forward.

Nine months since my diagnosis, I have completed five months of chemotherapy and am now preparing for three weeks of radiation therapy after which I will start hormone blocker therapy for five years. To stay optimistic I like to write down what I am grateful for and an action item of what I will do so I will end this letter with that.
Today I’m grateful for…
For volunteers, For women that share their experiences with breast cancer, For the kindness nurses give and For the time we are gifted on this earth.
Today I will…
Trust myself (myself = gut, Spirit),
Trust in the knowledge my doctors have, and
Trust that the Lord will do the rest
